Privacy Policy

Lahub is a legal case-management service for advocates in India, available as a web app and a mobile app. It is operated by Core Nudus ("Core Nudus", "we", "us"), which is the data fiduciary responsible for the personal data described below. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Lahub you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — your name, email address, and where you provide them, your mobile number and law-firm or chamber name. Your email is used to sign in and to send reminders and the daily digest.
  • Case data you add or import — case numbers, party names, hearing dates, court/order details, notes, and documents you attach. Much of this is imported on your instruction from official government court portals (eCourts, High Court and District Court services), which publish case information publicly.
  • Subscription and billing information — the plan you are on and the records needed to raise invoices and process renewals. Card and bank details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by us.
  • Device / push token — on the mobile app, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can deliver hearing reminders to your device. It is tied to your account and used only for your own notifications.
  • Correspondence — anything you send our support team, kept so we can answer you and keep a record of the request.
  • Basic technical data — standard request logs and, if enabled, error diagnostics, to keep the service reliable and secure.
  • Page counts on our public pages — when you visit our home, features, FAQ, about, pricing, terms, refunds or privacy page, we add one to a counter for that page, that date, and the website that referred you. That is the whole record. We do not store your IP address in any form, we set no cookie and no identifier, we do not keep the time of day, and we keep only the referring site's name rather than the full link. Because nothing about an individual visit is stored, there is nothing that could be traced back to you. It is our own counter — no analytics company is involved — and it is switched off entirely if your browser sends "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control.
  • How much of the service your account uses — we keep a daily tally per account of how many times certain costly things happened: requests we made to a court website on your behalf, captchas solved, AI summaries generated, pages read by OCR, and how many cases your account held that day. We keep this to work out fair pricing and the fair-use limits described in our Terms, and to size our own infrastructure.
    What the tally does not record is the point: it is a count of a kind of action, never of the matter it touched. We do not store which case, which CNR, which court, which party, or which document — a record of which matters you are working on would be a picture of your practice and of your clients, and we do not keep one. We also do not store the time of day, only the date. No third party receives any of it.

2. How we use it

  • To provide the service: track your cases, hearings and orders, and show them to you.
  • To send you reminders (email and, on mobile, push/local notifications) and the optional daily digest.
  • To fetch case details and documents from public court portals when you request a refresh or import.
  • To manage your subscription, process renewals and raise invoices.
  • To answer your support requests.
  • To secure the service, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

3. Court portal data

Case information is fetched from official government court portals on your behalf. Lahub is not affiliated with or endorsed by any court or government body. That data originates from, and belongs to, those public sources.

It is a copy, and it can be out of date, incomplete or incorrect. The official court record always prevails — please verify every important date, deadline and order against it.

4. AI features

Some features use automated language models: to summarise an order or judgment, and to read a court page when the automatic extraction is incomplete. Two things reach our AI provider — the text of an order when you ask for a summary, and the content of a court page during an import or refresh where the automatic reading falls short. That second use is not something you trigger separately, which is why we name it here.

AI-generated results can contain errors and should always be independently reviewed before professional or legal use.

5. How your data is stored & secured

  • Data is stored on Microsoft Azure (PostgreSQL database and Blob storage) with access controls.
  • Authentication uses signed tokens (JWT); passwords are hashed.
  • Documents (order/judgment PDFs, note attachments) are stored in access-controlled Azure Blob storage.
  • On Android, the app is excluded from Google Drive backup and from device-to-device transfer, so your case data and saved documents do not leave your device by either route.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no internet-based system can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for keeping your password and any signed-in device secure.

6. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share it only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service, and where required by law:

  • Azure — hosting, database and document storage.
  • Our email provider — to send you sign-in codes, hearing reminders and the daily digest.
  • Firebase — push delivery, if and when push notifications are enabled in the app.
  • Groq — the AI features, as described in section 4.
  • Our payment provider — to take subscription payments. They receive what is needed to process the payment; we do not store your card details.

We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or governmental authority, or to protect the rights and security of Lahub and its users.

7. Calendar subscription

If you subscribe to your hearings from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook or any other calendar app, that app fetches a feed from us on a schedule. The link contains a secret token, and that token is the only credential — calendar apps cannot send a password with these requests. Two consequences worth knowing:

  • Your calendar provider receives, and keeps, your hearing dates and case titles.
  • Anyone who obtains the link can read the same feed. Treat it like a password: do not post or forward it. You can rotate it in the app at any time, which immediately breaks the old link.

If you never subscribe to the feed, none of this applies.

8. Notifications

You can turn hearing reminders and the daily digest on or off in Settings. On mobile, you can disable notifications in your device settings at any time; the push token is removed when you sign out.

9. Cookies

Lahub sets no cookies — not for analytics, not for advertising, and not for sessions. Your sign-in is held in your browser's local storage on your own device, and our page counter uses no cookie and no identifier of any kind.

This is why you have not been shown a cookie consent banner. There is nothing to consent to.

10. Third-party services and links

The app opens official court portals and other public websites so you can complete a search or download a document. Those sites are operated by others, have their own privacy practices, and are not covered by this policy.

11. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active, and afterwards only for as long as reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect the service.

You can delete individual cases, notes and documents in the app. To request correction, export or deletion of your personal information and User Content, write to us at the address below and we will action the request.

12. Children

Lahub is intended for legal professionals and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
